Portland is getting a soccer team, and we are pumped! As part of the Portland Hearts of Pine launch video, we took a trip over to Vinalhaven to chat with Richie Carlsen, a local lobster fisherman. Richie gave us the lowdown on Maine island life, and what the new soccer club means to him. We’re thrilled to share stories like Richie’s to highlight the team, and the unique and amazing people who make Maine so special. Go Hearts!

The series was envisioned by Maine's poet laureate, Stuart Kestenbaum, as an expansion of Poems from Here on Maine Public Radio and Maine Public Classical. The films include Mainers from Governor Janet Mills to student writers from the Telling Room in Portland.

Way back in normal times, we produced this short film about Yayoi Kusama's new balloon for the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. The parade was so windy in 2019 that the balloon was grounded. It ended up flying in the weirdest year ever: 2020. More on the parade here.
In our hunt for the perfect music, we just got fed up and wrote our own. There's nothing like a deadline to bring out creativity.
